In 1989, Jim Merry & Associates,
along with the Friends of the Pima County - Green Valley library, asked Robert
to create a facade for a new library to be constructed within their community.
The romanesque portals, with a southwestern slant, sported a totemic
desert mural replete with a big horn ram forming the volute at the spring line,
and a fish hook barrel cactus in an agave fruit cup below.

Diamond
chevrons, basket weave and rope twists step reavealed arches into the cool shade
of the deep portal within. This project was funded by contributions raised
through a bake sale organized by the Friends of the Library.
Cookies and
Cakes allowed the gift of a facade to the community and Pima County.
